With over 15 years of experience as a Narrative Trauma Therapist, Consultant, and Presenter, I have dedicated myself to serving and supporting individuals, families and groups navigate the intricate paths of healing, resilience, and self-transformation.

Experience

My journey as a trauma therapist began with a deep passion for understanding the human experience and making a positive impact on those facing adversity. With over 15 years of academic study and clinical practice, I have developed a profound understanding of the interplay between trauma and narrative, shaping my approach to therapy. 

My clients come from the San Francisco Bay Area, primarily serving the Oakland and Berkeley communities and now all parts of California. I provide in person and virtual therapy.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a proven therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences and emotional distress. It combines elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy with bilateral stimulation such as guided eye movements or alternating tactile stimuli. These techniques help facilitate the processing of distressing memories, reducing their emotional charge and promoting healthier thought patterns. EMDR is effective for addressing a range of issues, including PTSD, anxiety, and depression, and is supported by extensive research demonstrating its efficacy in enhancing overall well-being.

Individual Therapy

​Individual therapy provides a confidential, supportive space where you and a trained therapist focus on your unique concerns, experiences, and goals. Together, you'll explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, identify challenges, and develop coping strategies. This one-on-one approach can help with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and personal growth.

Relationship Therapy

Relationship therapy helps you and your partner understand each other better, appreciate differences, and manage conflicts healthily. You'll uncover the root causes of major conflicts, improve communication, deepen intimacy, reduce emotional detachment, and rebuild trust.

Session Length, Fees & Frequency

Session Length 

I offer sessions of 50 minutes and 75 minutes, tailoring the length to individual and group needs. 

 

Session Fees 

Please contact me to discuss my rates for individual, relationship and consulting sessions.

 

Methods of Payment 

I accept cash, check, PayPal, or venmo.

 

Lower Fee Appointments 

Currently, all sliding scale slots are taken, and there are no lower fee therapy appointments available. 

 

Frequency of Sessions 

Psychotherapy sessions are generally held once or twice weekly, but we are adaptable to more frequent sessions if schedules allow. 

 

Health Insurance & Reimbursement 

While I do not accept health insurance, I provide monthly service statements for clients to seek reimbursement from their insurance providers. Many clients receive reimbursement for a meaningful percentage of their psychotherapy costs. If you have questions or need clarification, feel free to reach out.
